PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Calgary Chapter of the CIO Association of Canada! Our Board of Directors is committed to bringing the value and resources of our growing national association to Calgary-area CIOs, and to giving our members a voice on issues affecting them and the CIO profession. This year our member events move to a new venue -- the Chamber of Commerce meeting facility in downtown Calgary. Stay tuned for more details on our exciting program of events for 2012.

Finding talent that can combine business skills with technology smarts remains a challenge in many of our organizations. We have some excellent models in other CIOCAN chapters for co-sponsoring programs focused on developing the upcoming talent that CIOs need, and we plan to make a similar impact in Calgary.

National e-seminars on related topics are available to you as part of your membership fee. Slides and commentary from all the e-seminars are available on the CIOCAN website. We'll be keeping in touch via e-blast, and we hope that members will take advantage of our on-line e-groups, a members-only forum and blogs for sharing ideas on hot topics in technology and business. And of course, if you're traveling to other Canadian cities, make a point of checking out local CIOCAN events - all members are welcome to attend.

Finally, plan to take advantage of this year's CIO Peer Forum being held in Toronto. CIOs from across the country will gather to network and hear top international speakers. We'll update you on the program as it takes shape.

You need us. We need you. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I invite you to work with CIOCAN's Calgary Chapter to provide a face and a voice to the CIO profession in Calgary.
