Maggie Fung, Executive Director, Information and Educational Management at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and John Tolkamp, Director, Information Technology at Ainsworth Engineered will discuss their Virtualized Desktop experiences. The presentations will cover strategy, architectures, results, end-user experience and challenges experienced in implementing and operating a virtual desktop infrastructure.

About our speakers......
Maggie Fung is the Executive Director of Information and Educational Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in British Columbia. Prior to joining Kwantlen in 1993, Maggie held a number of senior IT positions at a variety of firms and organizations including Canadian Helicopter Corporation and the Hong Kong Branch of Arthur Anderson where she began her career more than 20 years ago. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Science and a MBA. Maggie is also a past member of the CIOVAN Board of Directors, and is the current President of the HEITBC (Higher Education Information Technology BC) Board.

John Tolkamp has more than 10 years experience leading I.T. in medium and large organizations. John is currently Director, Information Technology at Ainsworth Engineered, a medium sized forest products company. John started his career as an automation/controls systems engineer, later moving into Information Technology where he assuming progressively greater responsibilities. John has also worked with startup organizations in the technology and energy industries. In I.T. leadership roles John lead organizations through large technology changes including ERP and E-business implementations, restructured I.T. to deal with sever industry down-turns and has lead technology planning and integration efforts arising from several corporate divestitures, mergers and acquisitions. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering augmented with graduate studies in computer aided design and digital controls.

Please join us for our monthly informal coffee meeting with your peers to network and discuss CIO topics. As there was so much interest in the topic of "Cloud Computing" at the last luncheon, we will continue discussing this topic. As always, the floor is always open to other discussions as the group decides.

Please come and share your experiences with others.
You can walk in and walk out at any time during this time.
