Edmonton Evening Event: A CIO View of CEO Perspectives

The CIO Association of Canada Edmonton Chapter invites senior IT leaders and their CEOs to participate in this special evening event at Northlands Expo Centre on Tuesday, February 23rd. Ray Patterson, Alberta School of Business Fellow in Management Information Systems, will lead off the presentations with an overview of CEO perspectives on CIOs and their organizational roles, and on what CEOs want from them. A guest panel of CEOs – the bosses of Edmonton Chapter CIO Association Board Members, will then provide their views. Topics addressed will include:
• Business challenges and risks in the next two years.
• Defining success of the IT organization.
• IT strategy and value proposition.
• The CIO in an entrepreneurial role.

About the Speaker:
Ray Patterson is a faculty member at the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta. His primary teaching areas are electronic commerce, telecommunications, and information systems design. Ray’s PhD studies were concentrated on Management Information Systems.
Formerly a staff auditor with Arthur Young (now Ernst and Young) and Accounting and Information Systems Supervisor for Alvada Construction Inc. in Alvada, Ohio, Ray stays in touch with industry needs by actively engaging local businesses in his teaching and research, and by providing continuing executive education lectures for professional societies and seminars.
