Vancouver Live Event: Business Intelligence

Date: Tuesday, January 12th

Time: 5:00 pm

Place: LAW COURTS INN

Cost: Members $30, Non-members $45

The CIO Association of Canada's Vancouver Chapter invites you to kick-off the New Year with a special evening event. Come and enjoy a great networking opportunity with peers and participate in a open discussion on "Business Intelligence". We have some great speakers lined up who will present real life cases from our membership, and answer some tough questions to start the year!

Is your BI project led and funded by your (IT) department?

Do you and your business colleagues have a common understanding of what the objectives of your BI project are?

Are there several "sources of truth" in the organization?

How complete is the data in your source systems?

Do you identify with any?

Is so, this event is for you! The evening will include presentations highlighting BI horror stories, the lessons learned from them, and some compelling success stories. One of the presenters, Blaize Reich, will summarize findings from SFU's 2009 online market research survey. 75 respondents, representing 27 industries, reported on their use of business analytics tools, their hiring plans for analytics positions, and their expectations about the growth BI in their firms. A Q&A session will follow. If attending we encourage you to send questions in advance to target the session directly at your needs.

Schedule:

5:00pm - Arrival & networking, cocktails and appetizers

5:45pm - Presentations and Q&A

6:30pm - Event wrap-up
