Blockchain Advisory Board

Executives from CIOCAN have been appointed to the TransformationWorx Board of Advisors. This Board of Advisors plays a pivotal role in helping shape the direction of this innovative Partnership to offer “enterprise-grade” professional development for executives, business leaders, and technology experts.

The Board of Advisors represents C-level executives from different industry sectors and academia across Canada in order to provide a customer-perspective of high need areas.

Advisors’ Roles:

  • Provide industry insights on emerging opportunities and highlight challenges that need to be addressed in the program as they relate to Business Digital Transformation and Blockchain technologies
  • Review curriculum and positioning of the program to help align this with current and anticipated needs
  • Provide more directed guidance and support on an occasional basis to help sound out ideas, speaking to the initiative, or helping with highly selective and directed outreach.

Bobby Singh | CISO and Global Head of Infrastructure | TMX
Bobby Singh, CISO and Global Head of Infrastructure, is responsible for delivering secure and highly available common technology services across TMX. As a member of the executive leadership team, Bobby is defining TMX’s cyber security and technology vision and strategy, to advance the organizational agenda.
He is responsible for TMX’s corporate information and IT systems and services, as well as all aspects of security, governance, risk, and compliance. He represents TMX in key forums focused on critical infrastructure, network evolution, intelligence, and availability. With more than two decades of executive experience, Bobby brings a wide range of technical and security knowledge to his current role. He has broad expertise in developing and implementing security programs for public and private sector organizations.
Prior to joining TMX, Bobby has held positions at TD Bank, Rogers Communications and eHealth, where he designed multi-year technology and culture transformation programs. He received his MBA from University of Pittsburgh and holds CISSP, CISM, CISA and CPA designations.

Steven Delaney | CIO  | MCAP
Steve Delaney has been Chief Information Officer (CIO) at MCAP since 2013 and is responsible for all technology that supports MCAP’s business operations across Canada.  MCAP is a large Canadian finance company with $62B of mortgages under administration.  Steve leads a team of 100+ technology experts that manage MCAP’s mortgage origination and servicing systems plus all data centre operations.
Prior to MCAP, Steve held executive positions in the Ontario Government and at RBC and BCE. Steve has an Honours BSc. from the University of Toronto, an MBA from York University and he has his ICD.D, Institute of Corporate Directors – Rotman School of Management.  He is also a PhD candidate in Computer Science.
Steve is on the Board of Directors of the CIO Association of Canada and Imaging Dynamics Corporation.

John Matsikas | IT Director | ATB Financial  
John Matsikas is an accomplished IT leader who is passionate about technology, innovation and the endless possibilities it enables for transforming our world for the better.  He has completed degrees in both Management Information Systems and Computing Science from the University of Alberta.
Since graduating, he has had the opportunity to apply his passion for IT in multiple industries, including Financial Services, Utilities, Telecommunications, Transportation and Academia.  He is a solutions-driven IT strategist and architect, recognized for introducing new ideas that take enterprise performance and productivity to the next level.  Currently, he is an IT Director for ATB Financial responsible for leading complex application development projects using emerging technologies, as well as leading teams that provide 24/7 support for critical IT enterprise services.
He is also a trusted adviser to executives, Board of Directors, PMO, business leaders and project teams in bridging the gap between business goals and technology capabilities.

David Del Giudice | Global VP of Enterprise Technology | Scotiabank 
David Del Giudice is a Vice President of Enterprise Technologies at Scotiabank, a Top 50 Global Bank. His team’s accountabilities include providing proactive and next generation enterprise solutions that enhance corporate effectiveness and employee experience through innovative technology enablement.
Prior to joining Scotiabank, David was the Global Head of Enterprise Architecture at AstraZeneca, a Top 10 Biopharmaceutical company. Here, David was the Information Technology Executive accountable for pulling together the Enterprise Architecture and Corporate Capability model across all global business and technology domains.  While at AstraZeneca David also led the organisational transformation of the Enterprise Information Services function and was a leader in establishing AstraZeneca’s global application development outsourced partnership model. Before joining AstraZeneca, David held leadership positions in consulting, at Dell, and at General Electric.
David has sat on the Board of Directors for the CIO Association of Canada, he’s the Founder of IASA Canada, a national chapter of the world’s largest professional body certifying IT and Enterprise Architects, and an Advisory Board Member for the Enterprise Mobility Network, providing mobility leadership in Canada.
With over 15 years of IT Leadership experience and entrepreneurial business investments David’s continual focus is on helping business’ gain maximum value from user focused technology innovations.

Sherif Sheta | CIO Advisor | BlueRock Therapeutics
Sherif Sheta is a progressive CIO who specializes in creating IT strategies that enable business growth, streamline internal operations and increase employee engagement. He leverages cloud platforms to accelerate deployment. Throughout his career he championed technology solutions that improved the customer engagement model and resulted in higher customer loyalty, better brand differentiation and increased sales. He believes that information technology is achieving greater purpose within the corporate culture, becoming the competitive advantage, not merely an enabler of business objectives.
He excels in the design, implementation, and execution of IT strategies that break down organizational silos, foster collaboration, convincingly build consensus, and drive positive change. Having worked at global companies for over 25 years, Sherif has recently shifted his focus to consulting and acting as CIO to growing companies, helping them extract more value from their technology dollars. He brings clarity to the solution design process while energizing key strategic relationships. In response to emerging trends in IT leadership, and to better serve the challenges faced by companies in aligning technology with business strategy, he embraces the role of the bimodal CIO.

Alexey Rykhva | Head of IT and Business Services | Procter and Gamble Canada, Inc
Alexey currently leads IT and Business Services group at Procter and Gamble Canada and Puerto Rico. In this capacity, he is responsible for a suite of over 100 business services ranging from traditional IT and Facilities to Advanced Analytics.
He has a broad international experience leading business transformation by applying information technology across multiple domains; and building world class IT organizations.
Alexey was born in Ukraine and lived and worked in 7 countries prior to Canada.


Dr. Ron Babin | Ryerson Faculty Association Executive | Associate Professor at Ted Rogers School of Mgmt  | Ryerson University
Ron Babin is an Associate Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Management.
Prior to joining Ryerson, he was a management consultant at KPMG and at Accenture, providing advice to clients on IT Strategy.  He has been an IT professional for several decades. His research now focuses on socially responsible outsourcing and digital transformation.
Ron graduated from York University with a computer science degree and an MBA.  He completed a doctorate in business at the Manchester Business School


Jonas Plouffe | Senior Manager, Technology | British Columbia Real Estate Association
Jonas is the IT Manager at the British Columbia Real Estate Association, where he and his team of staff and consultants have been helping his organization and the Canadian organized real estate industry become knowledge and technology leaders.  Never happy with ‘good enough,’ he is a driven improver, learner and seeker. He is constantly working on adopting leading-edge technologies into new and existing projects.
His career has covered the range of duties, starting in the trenches of technical support in the 90s, to more recently directing the development of cloud-based service delivery platforms in partnership with the provincial real estate regulatory body. He is a member of CIOCAN, as well as the Canadian Real Estate Association’s Technical Peer Group.

Yasemin Sezer | Head – Technology & Operations | Larsen & Toubro Infotech Canada
Yasemin Sezer heads the delivery technology organization. She is responsible for end-to-end delivery of technology solutions spanning Architecture, Business Analysis, Development, Testing and PMO both in Canada and globally. Supported solutions include Transfer Agency applications for Wealth/Asset Management in a SaaS model, AIM solutions for Reporting Analytics Services, Web Services, Digital Case and Content Management solution, Client and Advisor Portals, Digital Automation solutions for Business and IT.
Previously Yasemin had been the head of Software Engineering Services for over 4 years. She has managed AGF Transfer Agency Application, Output Management Services, Imaging/Workflow/Archive solution, Partner Relations and GUI transformation program during 10 years of employment at Citigroup Fund Services Canada. Yasemin was director of desktop/server image management within Production Services for 2 years at Manulife Financial. Prior to Manulife, her experience was focused on Banking and Switching (ATM/POS) applications management for Cooperators Data Services which was later acquired by CGI. Yasemin has a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Bosphorus University in Istanbul.

Cynthia Fortlage | Vice President Information Technology (CIO) | GHY International
Cynthia joined GHY in 1988, and since then has developed and grown the company’s Information Technology area to adapt to demands of an information-intensive industry. She is the architect and overseer of GHY’s technology backbone/infrastructure, oversees relationships with the company’s technology-related vendors, and is visionary in equipping GHY to meet its present and future challenges.
Cynthia is a founding member of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Innovation Awards, Founding Member of CIO Association of Canada, Founder of Manitoba CIO group on LinkedIn and has spoken at many national and international conferences, and accepted the IBM Innovation Award for the “i” series server on behalf of the company in Chicago in 2005.
