Danny Leong

Calgary Police Service

Sergeant Danny Leong is 22-year member of the Calgary Police Service, who is currently working in the Service’s Cyber/Forensics Unit. Over the course of his career, he has had the opportunity to work in both operational and investigative capacities in several units across the Service. For the past three years, Danny has had the privilege of leading a Cybercrime Team that consists of seven dedicated Constables who investigate internet-related crimes impacting Calgarians. Primarily, Danny’s team investigates situations where technology is the “target”, such as unauthorized use of computers, ransomware, theft of data and dark-web-related offences. The Cybercrimes Team also supports Service investigations where technology and the internet are the instruments for criminals to facilitate traditional offences such as fraud, thefts or threats. When he isn’t pursuing his passion for cybercrime, Danny is an avid camper and dedicated coach to his daughters’ minor hockey team.
