CIOCAN has helped establish an Advisory Board under the Telus Thought Leadership agreement to develop a community of CIOs who discuss common issues such as trends and challenges faces by CIOs in navigating their firm’s digital transformation and technology choices.
The Board will meet quarterly with CIOCAN reporting a summary of each session to the members.

She oversees a team of IT professionals who are committed to collectively design and deliver technological solutions to enable business growth and process transformation.
Throughout her career Nathalie has a strong track record for developing IT vision, achieving business results, fostering a winning culture, and building strong collaborative teams.
Nathalie holds a Master’s Degree in Math from the OSU University as well as Microsoft professional certifications. She completed the Beedie School of Business Leadership Development program.
Medhanie Tekeste | Vice President, Global Information Systems | Apotex
Medhanie has 20+ years of IT experience including 14+ years of broad-based management in Systems development, implementation and support. Strategically and cost effectively utilizes technology in alignment with corporate goals.
Consistently improve delivery times and service levels while reducing costs. He has extensive Pharmaceutical industry knowledge and experience. Excels in building relationships with the business ensuring alignment of IT and business strategy.
Medhanie as VP, Global Information Services is responsible for all end to end IT services globally, this includes enterprise architecture, Infrastructure, application, data governance, Systems compliance & risk/security management, Customer Care operations, PMO & Program management and enablement.
Christine Day | CIO | Questrade
Christine Day is a performance-driven technology and business leader known for deploying technology solutions to disrupt the Financial Services Industry. An entrepreneur by nature, an innovator, and a visionary, Christine has defined Questrade’s technology posture for 11 years, steering it from a small start-up to one of Canada’s top online financial services firms. As the Chief Technology & Information Officer at Questrade Financial Group, Christine led the growth of the technology team from 8 to 160 IT staff in 3 countries. In tandem, she led the creation of Questrade’s suite of proprietary brokerage systems including an industry-leading, low-latency, direct access trading platform for equities on all North American markets. As both CIO and CTO, Christine provides Questrade with the technical capabilities to compete directly with Canada’s big 5 banks and succeed. Questrade is consistently ranked as the fastest growing online brokerage and one of Canada’s best managed companies for 6 consecutive years.

Christine is now an expert advisor for the Ontario Securities Commission Launchpad and a Member of the Board of Directors for the CIO Association.
Prior to Questrade, Christine was the President and CEO at Pivotalinks Interactive, a privately-owned agency specializing in custom designed and engineered solutions for Teck Cominco, Drake International, Sun-Times Media Group, Peel District School Board, and Questrade Inc.
Christine holds an honours Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a post-graduate in Interactive Multimedia and Computer Engineering from Sheridan College. Christine is a frequent speaker on topics of CTO/CIO strategy, digital transformation, FinTech innovation and Women executive leadership.
Since joining the Americas regional team in 2014, Richard has been instrumental in establishing the collaborative culture, agile operation and digitized approach for DB Schenker’s customers, employees and strategic partners.
Bohdan Baluta | Director of IT | Electrical Safety Authority
Bohdan Baluta is a seasoned IT and consulting professional with over 25 years of experience. Bohdan graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1990 with A Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA).
After graduating, Bohdan spent several years in various positions in the Call centre industry. For 11 years after that, Bohdan had his own consulting company (Bohdex) serving mainly the Ontario Electricity industry. Bohdex had a focus on IT, business and call centre transformation initiatives working on a wide cross section of business and IT initiatives.
In 2012 Bohdan accepted the position of IT Director with the Electrical Safety Association (ESA). Bohdan continues to hold the position of ESA IT Director and has accountability for all of IT for the Organization.
Anne has a proven record of business transformation leveraging technology and process improvement to maximize efficiency and accuracy in many disciplines including logistics, warehousing, HR, Finance and retail.
Anne received her BA Hons degree in Town and Country planning from University of Manchester.
Yasemin Sezer | Head – Technology & Operations | Larsen & Toubro Infotech Canada
Yasemin Sezer heads the delivery technology organization. She is responsible for end-to-end delivery of technology solutions spanning Architecture, Business Analysis, Development, Testing and PMO both in Canada and globally. Supported solutions include Transfer Agency applications for Wealth/Asset Management in a SaaS model, AIM solutions for Reporting Analytics Services, Web Services, Digital Case and Content Management solution, Client and Advisor Portals, Digital Automation solutions for Business and IT.
Previously Yasemin had been the head of Software Engineering Services for over 4 years. She has managed AGF Transfer Agency Application, Output Management Services, Imaging/Workflow/Archive solution, Partner Relations and GUI transformation program during 10 years of employment at Citigroup Fund Services Canada.
Yasemin was director of desktop/server image management within Production Services for 2 years at Manulife Financial. Prior to Manulife, her experience was focused on Banking and Switching (ATM/POS) applications management for Cooperators Data Services which was later acquired by CGI. Yasemin has a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Bosphorus University in Istanbul.
