Biography

Director, Consulting and Public Sector Leader, RSM Canada

Sawan is a Director at RSM with experience in the strategic planning and implementation of large transformation projects in both the public and private sector. Recently, Sawan has worked on projects with municipalities such as the City of St. Albert, City of Edmonton, City of Red Deer, Sturgeon County, and Strathcona County where he has been involved in project and change management activities, requirements gathering/elicitation, and development of detailed reports that contain business cases, gap analyses, and strategic roadmaps. His work on these projects has been informed by experience gained through roles as a business consultant during the implementation phases of various transformational projects. As such, Sawan has developed a deep understanding of public sector operations, the complexities of stakeholder management when developing strategy, and the difficulties of organizational change during implementation. This provides him with the knowledge and experience to develop pragmatic solutions that are accepted by organizations and that provide tangible value. He is a strategic and analytical thinker who has a deep understanding of municipal operations and program and service delivery.
