Partnerships Overview

Partnerships2As the only independent, not-for-profit association of CIOs in Canada, CIOCAN has established important partnerships with a number of research, advocacy, media and event-based organizations that are committed to the profession of CIO. All organizational relationships are established through, or in conjunction with the National Board.

CIOCAN is open to a limited number of additional partner relationships in 5 categories.

If you are interested in applying for a partnership, applications may be submitted online based on the type of partner relationship you are interested in.

Applications provide details on the specific criteria we assess in potential partnerships and will enable us to measure your partner request against our established criteria.  Applications  are reviewed monthly and submitted to our National Board for further discussion.

Overview information is provided below, or you can review the detailed criteria.  Once you have chosen your category, submit a partner application:

 INDUSTRY A non-commercial business relationship with like-minded Canadian ICT industry organizations offering mutual brand and member benefits. 
 EVENTS A relationship with an external event firm which provides ICT content, similar/aligned with CIOCAN values offering benefits to members should they choose to attend, and brand visibility.  Supported or hosted at a National or Chapter level.
 RESEARCH A one-time or annual research-based initiative resulting in co-branded published works which bring ICT industry knowledge, benefits and insight to members individually with leadership and brand recognition for the association and/or external industry practitioners.
 ACADEMIC A professional and leadership development opportunity for our members, run locally, and/or Canada-wide with a view to establishing nationally recognized education standards for CIOs, and which contributes to other academic achievement levels.
 MEDIA A Media relationship is intended to deliver industry visibility to the CIOCAN brand covering our activity, press announcements; highlighting member achievement and measure our industry reach and impact.

 


Partnership Criteria

INDUSTRY:
A non-commercial business relationship with like-minded Canadian ICT industry organizations offering mutual brand and member benefits.

Criteria:

  • Direct investment by CIOCAN not required.
  • Provides CIOCAN and members with relevant ICT industry insight, technology trends, and connections that contribute to our overall growth strategy.
  • Provides CIOCAN the opportunity to represent our members and the CIO profession as the “Voice of the CIO” working with other significant orgainzations in the Canadian ICT industry and global arena.
  • Partnership must be National in scope.
  • Each partnership should be unique and exclusive in the sense that it not duplicate effort in the market representing the same stakeholders.
  • The partner relationship should not inadvertently or directly compete with CIOCAN forums or initiatives.
  • Solicitation of members is not permitted.

EVENTS:

A relationship with an external event firm which provides ICT content, similar/alinged with CIOCAN values offering benefits to members should they choose to attend, and brand visibility.  Supported or hosted at a National or Chapter level.

Criteria:

  • The promoted event should will not conflict with the timing and/or topic of a CIOCAN National or Chapter event.
  • Direct investment by CIOCAN not required.
  • Provides  members with relevant ICT industry insight, technology trends, and connections contributing to our overall growth strategy.
  • Provides CIOCAN the opportunity to represent our members and the CIO profession as the “Voice of the CIO” working with other significant orgainzations in the Canadian ICT industry and global arena.
  • CIOCAN speaking opportunity at the podium.
  • Each partnership should be unique and exclusive in the sense that it not duplicate effort in the market representing the same stakeholders.
  • The partner relationship should not inadvertently or directly compete with CIOCAN forums or initiatives.
  • Solicitation of members is not permitted

RESEARCH:

A one-time or annual research-based initiative resulting in co-branded published works which bring ICT industry knowledge, benefits and insight to members individually with leadership and brand recognition for the association and/or external industry practitioners.

Criteria:

  • Objective is to carve out a unique CIO-relevant topic with partners who can expand the pool of data to support a credible research offering to our members as well as capture industry visibility for our brand.
  • Each research topic should be unique and exclusive in the sense that it not duplicate effort in the market representing the same stakeholders.
  • Direct investment by CIOCAN not required.
  • A formal document to be signed describing all deliverables.
  • Solicitation of members is not permitted.

ACADEMIC:

A professional and leadership development opportunity for our members, run locally, and/or Canada-wide with a view to establishing nationally recognized education standards for CIOs, and which contributes to other academic achievement levels.

Criteria:

  • Direct investment by CIOCAN not required.
  • Members gain relevant ICT industry insight in technology trends and connections that contribute to our overall growth strategy.
  • Provides CIOCAN the opportunity to represent our members and the CIO profession as the “Voice of the CIO” working with other significant orgainzations in the Canadian ICT industry and global arena.
  • Partnership must be National in scope.
  • The partner relationship should not inadvertently or directly compete with CIOCAN forums or initiatives.
  • Each partnership should be unique and exclusive in the sense that it not duplicate effort in the market representing the same stakeholders.
  • A formal document to be signed describing all deliverables.

MEDIA:

A Media relationship is intended to deliver industry visibility to the CIOCAN brand covering our activity, press announcements; highlighting member achievement and measure our industry reach and impact.

Criteria:

  • Visibility for our membership, showcasing their contributions to the association and the ICT industry.
  • A non-commercial business relationship.
  • Provides CIOCAN and members with relevant ICT industry insight, technology trends, and connections that contribute to our overall growth strategy.
  • Provides CIOCAN the opportunity to represent our members and the CIO profession as the “Voice of the CIO” working with other significant orgainzations in the Canadian ICT industry and global arena.
  • Partnership must be National in scope.
  • Each partnership should be unique and exclusive in the sense that it not duplicate effort in the market representing the same stakeholders.
  • The partner relationship should not inadvertently or directly compete with CIOCAN forums or initiatives.
