The CIO Association of Canada (CIOCAN) is pleased to announce the winners of our 2025 Impact Awards.
The CIOCAN Impact Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of our members, and we’re so proud of our members who are leading the way. A big congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the nominees and everyone who participated.
The Lifetime Achievement Award honours a member who demonstrates exceptional leadership and innovation. This year’s recipient, Shari Wallace has made significant contributions to CIOCAN and Canada’s tech sector. With over 20 years of experience, Shari has driven change at the City of Vancouver, TRIUMF, and Greater Vancouver Realtors. She also mentors future leaders through both volunteer work in the community and at Simon Fraser University, embodying the values of collaboration and community-building.
The President’s Award is presented to a board member who leads by example, inspiring others to reach new heights. Dr. Peter Holowka, the winner of this year’s award, exemplifies these qualities through his selfless leadership, professionalism, and inclusive approach. A long-time member of CIOCAN, and a national board contributor, Peter has consistently uplifted others in the tech community and fostered strong engagement with his peers. His expertise in educational technology, showcased internationally, amplifies his impact in the sector.
