The 2025 CanadianCIO of the Year Awards recognize Canadian technology leaders who have demonstrated business and technological vision, entrepreneurship, a capacity to drive enterprise transformation, and a demonstrated ability to propel value in the marketplace. There are three parts to the 2025 nomination process. Please note incomplete nominations will not move forward in the judging process.

The nominator must provide two letters of recommendation attesting to the nominees’ accomplishments. The letters are integral to the judges’ decision-making process and preferably a least one of the two letters comes from within the nominee’s own organization as opposed to a vendor of the organization.
The nominator must complete the form below with the information that details the nominee’s accomplishments and the context in which they were achieved.
The CanadianCIO of the Year Awards will be presented in Toronto, Ontario, in October 2025. Award recipients must be present in person to participate in the celebration!

1. Successful CIOs are by their nature agents of organizational change. Please describe the organization the nominee serves and the particular challenge or opportunity the nominee confronted. (200 words max.) *

2. Successful CIOs are innovative, creative and possess a broad vision of both organizational potential and the capacity of technology to achieve or exceed that potential. Please describe how the performance of the nominee exhibits the qualities of innovation, creativity, business acumen, technological vision and influence. (300 words max.) *

3. Successful CIOs deliver outstanding measurable results. Please outline the measurable results the nominee has achieved for the organization served. Where possible, quantify the results, i.e. implemented a solution that saved the organization $XX, produced improvements in customer satisfaction of XX%.
