Get involved, learn and contribute
Professional Development at CIOCAN includes a range of programs and major events designed to support learning, engagement, and leadership in the IT community. Here’s an overview of our current offerings:
Impact Awards
CIOCAN’s Impact Awards recognize excellence in our technology leaders across Canada. It is together that we tackle the complex issues of our profession and we’re proud of our members who are leading the way.
CIO Executive Leadership Program and the official CIO Designation ‘CIO.D®’
The CIO Executive Leadership Program, delivered by the Rotman School of Management in partnership with CIOCAN, is the first step in obtaining the official CIO.D and in developing the skills and experience to reinforce your role as a strategic Senior IT Leader and CIO.
CIO Peer Forum®
The CIO Peer Forum® is tailored for CIOs and senior IT leaders, offering a unique opportunity to stay at the forefront of IT leadership, gain actionable insights, and build connections with Canada’s leading experts.
National Committees
CIOCAN members are invited to contribute their expertise by joining one of our national committees: the Thought Leadership Committee, Technology and Security Committee, or Finance Committee. Volunteering is a powerful way to influence the direction of the association, collaborate with peers, and elevate the voice of IT leadership across Canada.
Technology Leadership Program
The CIOCAN Leadership Development Program is offered by Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business, in partnership with the CIO Association of Canada.
CIO Connect
CIO Connect is a member-exclusive virtual forum designed to bring together CIOs, CTOs, and senior IT leaders from across Canada. Led by peers and centered on real-world challenges and innovations, these candid conversations offer valuable insight, support, and connection. It’s a unique opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas, and grow as an IT leader.
