Reporting to the Managing Partner, and working closely with Firm leadership, the Chief Information Officer provides strategic direction and architectural oversight for Smythe LLP’s technology environment. Leading a 12-person IT team, the CIO is accountable for the Firm’s technology roadmap, cybersecurity posture, enterprise platforms – including data, automation and AI enablement, as well as day-to-day service delivery.
At Smythe, the CIO is expected to operate as a business partner, transformation leader, and architect who can translate Firm priorities into secure, scalable, well-integrated technology decisions.
The ideal candidate is a senior IT leader with exceptional change management, facilitation, and people leadership skills who has a track record of architecting best-in-class systems and successfully integrating emerging technologies, including AI and automation, within fast-paced, evolving environments. The CIO is a sophisticated, strategic thinker who possesses a keen understanding of the critical role technology plays in the overall operations, risk posture, and digital transformation of an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented organization. This individual brings a supportive, high-accountability leadership approach and the ability to lead in complex situations, working collaboratively and with confidence to balance the needs of the Firm.
Working closely with the Firm’s leadership, the new CIO will understand how to enable the business to meet current client demands while thinking innovatively about where the industry is headed. This person will have a demonstrable reputation as a skillful listener and communicator with audiences at all levels. Additionally, the CIO has a proven ability to govern, plan, and deliver mission-critical initiatives on time and on budget. Extensive experience leading an IT team of professionals is augmented by a degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related discipline.
The targeted salary range for this position is $200,000 – $220,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
