Have you ever been in the audience listening to someone share their experiences, the good as well as the tougher lessons, and feel humbled and inspired to do more? That is how we felt at our Peer to Peer breakfast presentation last Thursday with Helen Knight. As the Director of Information Technology at the Calgary Drop In & Rehab Centre Society Helen told the wonderful story of how she powerfully connected IT to the mission of the Society in order to get the funding she needed to move the technology department from a neglected utility to an innovative service that makes the lives of both staff and clients better. Helens ability to translate technology-speak into language that resonates with the Board and other stakeholders provided valuable insights and better equipped us all in the audience to go back and have better conversations in our respective organizations.
