On June 18th we welcomed the assistance and expertise of Bennett Jones, Info-Tech and Vcura, for our annual offsite on The Role and Impact of the CIO/CISO on Business Risk. Info-Tech’s CIO Posture survey debrief set the stage for Bennett Jones to relate their experiences with the broader impacts of IT risks for the organizations that IT supports. Then, after lunch, Michael McDonnell of Vcura, demonstrated exactly how a data breach or network intrusions occur – from the “bad guy’s” point of view (we were all left sweating) Finally, Steve Biswanger, our own CISO Division President from ATCO, led us in a practical exploration of what we all need to do to take a leadership role and have a stronger, positive impact on our organizations’ business risk strategies.
